Registry keys that I can't delete can't take control of etc.

I'm trying to install Acrobat professional so I can create PDF files but I
keep hitting some registry key that stops the install. I took control of all
the ones I could find and then the install goes further but still finds
another key that is locked or I don't have permission to.

How can I either reset the Vista registry so that the program can install or
a way for me to take control of the non conforming keys.

Thanks for any help, Rich

Have you tried running the installer as administrator - right click the .exe and select "runv as Adinistrator"

Yes I've done that as well no go. I've drilled down to the registry key in
question and I can't delete it or take ownership it just gives an error.

Downoload PsTools
Unpack file psexec.exe and place it in C:\Windows\System32

next run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on it as admin if you use UAC) and in cmd.exe type:

psexec -s -i -d regedit.exe

-this command allow you run regedit.exe from a SYSTEM account (not from your account) so remember if you want remove any key the owner of this key should be SYSTEM now and full control for him for this key also.
(see PsTools describe)
