Windows Defender Out of Date

just an Observation
I look in Windows Defender the yellow bulb is up and it says:

Windows Defender is also running and included in Windows. Windows
Defender is turned on, but currently out of date.

so I click Update now, Message; No new Definitions available to download for
Windows Defender.
Not seen this be for
my latest Update for Windows Defender KB 915597 (Definition 1.47.167.0)
11/11/2008

I'm running AVG free and SuperAntispyware free
Home basic 32 bit SP1

If you have Super Antispyware, why are you also running Defender?
Multiple Virus checkers or spyware checkers is a recipe for trouble.

Real time virus checkers, yes. Spyware checkers, no.

WindowsDefender is a 'real-time' A-S application, the free version of
SUPERAntiSpyware is an 'on-demand' scanner; A very good (trouble free)
combination!
