Vista seems laggy

Hi all, just done a fresh install of vista ultimate x64 and applications seem slightly laggy and i really dont know why. I dont run or have installed many applications, neither do i have a crappy computer (Quad core, 4gb ram and an ATI 4850) my hard drive isnt slow either.

Any suggestions?

Re: Vista seems laggy

Have you installed SP1? Possibly the OS is indexing files, performance will
improve over a few days based on personal estimates. When you say laggy
though, could you give us some specifics, are you referring to boot time,
loading of desktop, application launch, gaming lost frame rates?

Generally you will also notice an improvement when Superfetch has
finished building up its initial cache. Might take a couple of days
also.
