Survey - How stable is VISTA?

1. Which version of VISTA are you using?

2. How frequently do you encounter operating system anomalies such as
freezing, crashes, inoperable functionality requiring re-booting, etc.?

3. How frequently do you re-install VISTA?

Never (and I've been running it here for two years, since RTM in
November 2006).

Never. I never reinstall any version of Windows. It's only necessary
if you badly screw up what you have.

Ultimate 64 (desktop 1), Ultimate 32 (desktop 2), Home Premium 32 (laptop
1), Ultimate 64 (laptop 2), Business 32 (in VPC on desktop 1 for testing in
my development job).

I used to have weekly/random crashes on desktop 1 due to a flaky ATI video
driver. This is a well-known issue. Since updating the driver about 9
months ago (this machine is 1 year old, so it was a tough 3 months!),
desktop 1 is now rock solid. Desktop 2, laptop 1, laptop 2 and VPC have
always been solid.

Never. What is the point of that? The days of Windows 98 "Bit Rot" and
"DLL Hell" are long gone.

Well, I *did* do a re-install on desktop 1. It came with Home Premium 32
pre-installed, along with a bunch of typical useless crap. I immediately
wiped it, deleted the 10 GB "system restore" partition, and installed
Ultimate 64 because I needed 64 bits so I could use 8 GB of RAM. This
machine is my main machine here and runs 24/7. No problems at all.

1: Vista Ultimate 64 bit

2: Installed the end of February of this year, have yet to encounter a
freeze, crash, etc. No blue screens, no sudden reboots.

3: Have only installed the one time so far.
