repair auto play settings

I had Nero showtime set as the default to autoplay DVD's.
I upgraded via uninstall to a different version of Nero showtime
the autoplay settings GRAYED out the OLD showtime, and I want to fix it so it
runs the installed showtime.

The autoplay wizard dated 2003 from Microsoft won't even run on Vista.

Is there a known registry entry for the autoplay settings, or specifically the
2 grayed out entries I have on all Older Nero autoplay settings ?

Re: repair auto play settings

Nero is got to be one of the top 3 most bloated crapware out there.

Number 1 is vista number 2 is norton products

You should use your serial number with the nero lite or micro version..
google it.

RE: repair auto play settings

The link that you supplied offers nothing for posters to understand the
condition of your OS, except that it is quite likely that problems with your
Vista and your older programs may be self-inflicted.

And NO

I removed a previous version of Nero [showtime] that set itself up as the
DEFAULT to play a DVD.

I installed a DIFFERENT version of Nero [showtime] and I can only assume it saw
in the registry that it already was the DEFAULT, or the registry key already
existed, so it moved on and left the old broken registry key alone.

I need to get down to the root problem. Vista doesn't know it's broken.
I need to find the autoplay registry entries to fix Any and ALL grayed out
entries.

I didn't provide any links.
I installed Nero, it set showtime as the default for DVD player which I wanted.

I uninstalled that version of Nero and installed a different Nero.

Now the default player [showtime] is grayed out in the autoplay section of
vista. It points to where the REMOVED Nero showtime existed.
