Windows Start Menu

Hi there, accidently I think I recently selected most of my hard drive to be hidden. I un did it soon as I realised that I had accidently made that mistake but now when I have un hidden everything I am getting icons and directories which are mostly showing in 50% opacity.

Also when I go to start programs, there are only a limited number of programs that I can select from, even the accessories level is dissappeared. So to select the programs that I wish to run I have to go through windows explorer. some new programs are showing properly in start menu... but i really need to fix this can someone please suggest how?

Re: Windows Start Menu

Hello Est1984,

Since this has just recently happened, then you might do a System Restore using a restore point dated before this happened to fix it. It may be the fastest and easiest way.

If this is not an option, then you could manually unhide each item using Option One in the tutorial below.

Hidden Files and Folders

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Re: Windows Start Menu

You should not have to reinstall everything after doing just a system restore. You may just need to recreate a few shortcuts instead.
