outlook express on windows vista

Is it possible to download and install Outlook Express on a Vista computer?
I do not have Vista yet but would like to use my old email program, Outlook
Express, on my new Vista machine when it arrives.

Impossible. With Vista you get Windows Mail.

Vista comes with the program "Windows Mail," Windows Mail is
essentially nothing more than a new version of Outlook Express, with a
new name.

Re: outlook express on windows vista

Thanks for all the responses. I guess I will have to say goodbye to OE and
try Mail.
Thanks again.

Re: outlook express on windows vista

If you have hotmail accounts you will lose the ability to access them with
Mail. You can solve that by installing Windows Live Mail which accesses
hotmail.

Which is something I miss. In XP Pro I have separate
mutually exclusive identities for email and usenet, to
prevent inadertently exposing my email address to
the newsgroups. I did that once and had to change
my email address to escape the onslaught of spam.

Why bother? When you set up the newsgroup account just use the
munged/throwaway email address....
