Vista Program opening lag

I just got my new laptop last week, and everything runs fine, until

yesterday when I
was trying to open my firefox, the entire opening

process run too long. when I click the FF, the cycle starts to rotate for

about 3-4 cycles, then it disappears, there is no FF window pop up.

after 10 sec, the browser window pops up, and everything looks right.

same thing happened with other programs, such like WOW, AIM, Word,

and itune. the most extreme situation is itune, the time between i click

the icon, until the window pop up, is about 20 sec. I have no idea what

was happened on my laptop. Just before I posted this thread, I found

out that if I click FF, waited to open up, then close it, and click to open

again, there is no opening lag, same as my other programs. It's just like

the Vista has memory, last time you did something, and it runs quickly

next time. I am using Intel Ventrino 2 processor, with Vista home

premium 64 bit, 4GB memory. I would really appreciate anyone can

help me solve this problem.
