Vista blue screen of death

Help!!!!!!

I have Vista on a HP pavilion notebook TX 1000 just over a year old.
Here's what my blue screen of death looks like:

A disk read error occurred
Press CTRL+Alt+Del to restart

which only restarts to that same screen.

If I hit F10 I get the PhoenixBios setup Utility tabs. The only thing
that I can do there is hit Hard disk self test which after 10 seconds
reads

#1-07 Fail

What can I do?? Will someone please help me?? Underdog where are you?

Re: Vista blue screen of death

call the manufacturer if still under warranty, your hard drive has died.
if the warranty has expired, take it to a reputable repair shop or ask a
geek friend to fix it.

Your hard drive has failed. If the laptop is still under warranty, contact
HP for replacement. Otherwise you will need to purchase a new hard drive
and reinstall Windows by using the Recovery Disks you made. If you
neglected to make Recovery Disks, you can order them from HP for very
little money, usually under $20.

You have a failed disc drive. If the machine is new contact HP.
If it's not, replacing a drive is easy but restoring the system may not be...

Re: Vista blue screen of death

make sure you have no usb flash drives or other USB hardware connected and
try to restart the lap...

if you don't have anything like that then your harddrive failed...

Wow - You looked at the 3 other responses and decided to post what they
already said. Did you have help composing your answer? Probably a
responsible adult helped out?

Re: Vista blue screen of death

REALLY?? Man, I barely use this computer. I got it for word processing
and email only. Do you think there is any relation between the hard
drive dying and my having more memory installed just prior to that?

I think I will have it repaired, sell it at a loss and switch to mac.

Thanks for your reply. It was greatly appreciated!
