| It's The One. | White Screen of Death Vista x64 As some of you may know I recently built a new system with Vista Home Premium x64. It's been running great since I built it in June but now I just had a WSOD. It doesn't seem to be Vista that is causing the problem since the only errors I can find in the Event Viewer are the Kerberos server error 15016 and an unexpected shutdown error 6008 that occured when I had to reboot the computer using the power button because of the WSOD. Is this an nVidia problem? I'm using an 8800GTS 320mb and I was using the 178.13 driver but I just updated after the "crash" to the newest driver 180.48 so I don't know if that was the issue or not. It happened when I was searching Google using FireFox. I did launch FF too early perhaps and I didn't give the sidebar a chance to load but would that cause the problem? If it's a white screen it has to be video related and not Vista related right? |

| Guest | Re: White Screen of Death Vista x64 I don't understand why you complain.... on XP we had only one color of SOD... blue. Now with Vista they added 3 new flavors... WHITE BLACK AND RED! You should be happy! lol Ok kidding aside, vista is trash... don't expect much of it.... | Guest | Re: White Screen of Death Vista x64 I didn't notice the 180 update.. the nvidia site claims it has lots of changes... I will download it too, and see if I get nice colors just like you are getting.. you know with blue red black and white screens flashing it brings the Christmas feeling... Perhaps they should add a green one this Christmas from windows update.. it would go great with the Christmas tree....
