Security Centre Message

Hi,

I am getting a message from the Windows Security Centre that tells me
'Windows did not find antivirus software on the computer'.

But I have McAffee installed which tells me that I am protected
(everything is on).

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the Security warning icon and
message.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for responding

I have IE 7 installed.

I had McAfee security centre installed when I bought the pc.

McAfee always installs updates automatically, and I have never had any
trouble before.

But, for some reason, Vista is not recognisinng the antivirus
programme - it always used to.

I scan my pc regularly, and it is clean.

How can I ensure that Vista re-recognises McAffee.

Thanks

Remesh,

Thanks for the reposnse.

I have read the page, and tried both the commands:

winmgmt/verifyrepositiory
winmgmt/salvagerepository

In both case, I got the following repsonse:

error code: 0x80041003
Facility: wmi
Description: Access Denied

Please can you advise further.

Does it look like this is the problem?

If so, how can I gain access to rebuild.

Best wishes

PS. How could winmgmt have become corrupted?

OOPs!,

I forgot to run the command as administrator.

When running winmgmt/verifyrepository as administrator, I get the
following message:

'wmi repository is consistent'.

Have you any further advice?

Hi, Remesh.

I tried winmgmt/salvagerepository.

I got the message: 'consistent'

I rebooted the machine, and the problem remains.

Vista still does not see McAfee.

Best wishes
