| | desktop back ground goes black Since the weekend the desktop background has gone black. If I browse to find a new background none are previewed. If I switch to the Windows Vista them, first, then I can change the background. When I shut down and restart, the background is back to black again and the theme shows as 'Modified theme'. There were 3 windows updates installed on 27th Nov - KB957321, KB959108 and KB95913 - perhaps one of these is causing the problem? Would be interesting to know if any one else is also experiencing this. I'm using Vista Ultimate x64. Thanks Mike |

Otherwise, here are a few notes about this sort of problem: If you can't change Desktop background - Start>Control Panel>Ease of Access>Ease of Access Center. Under "Make things on the screen easier to see", deselect the option "Remove background images (where available). Select "Save". If that doesn't help, download wallpaper_enable.reg from the following link - http://www.winhelponline.com/fixes/wallpaper_enable.reg Save the file to Desktop. Right-click on the file and then choose "Merge" Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! FAQ - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |
