Vista - full screen, no pitcher when watching video

No pitcher when I go to full screen (video), the sreen is black. I have sound,
New laptop, vista, 16 bit

What kind of video? A DVD? What?

By the way: a "pitcher" is a container to hold and pour fluid from,
like a water pitcher. Or it is the baseball playeer whose job is to
throw the ball to the catcher in such a manner as to keep the batter
from hitting it.

if there is no picture, try finding an updated video driver
maybe reinstall the player.
can you watch the same video on another machine?

DVDs play fine, the problem is on line, news on BBC or movie tralier, any
video form the net.
