Hello Maschdel,
Pending.xml only exists on your system if an update requires action to take
place after a reboot.
Not all updates would require it present and it would only be present
during the installation time and the subsequent reboot.
On the reboot we check the pending.xml file, if it exists there are
installation actions that need to take place to complete the installation
of the updates.
If the update doesn't install and errors out, it has no pending actions
that need to be recorded and acted on after the reboot takes place.
You didn't get that far in the installation process if that update needs to
generate a pending.xml file.

Thx a lot for your information.
At least nw, I won't look for a missing pending file anymore.
But this still does't sole my actua problem.
I got Vista Ultimate and Office 2007.
I never had a problem, untill WU tried to install the
Windows-Update-Software 7.2.6001.188
It always fails reporting error 0x8007371c

I have done everything, that is written in any forum or help -actually this
error doesn't exist due to MS help.
Please help me, it's driving me nutts.

The entire log would be too large to post, so this should be enough to give
