| | Lost Volume, Network, Power icons from notification area Vista 64 Ultimate/HP HDX 16 laptop I can't get them back, right click start button, properties, notification area, system icons - the three checkboxes are grayed out. Only the clock checkbox is active... What to do? Thanks, --ch |

Now go to File menu in Task Manager,select New Tas (Run) and type explorer...press Enter. Now you should see options un-grayed select them and click OK.Repeat this with selecting and reselecting and then restart PC. Worked for me Last edited by Lazaruslong; 12-11-2008 at 08:49 AM..
