Application compatibility

I think you really need to do something about that. It might well be the ISVs
that are not up to speed in rewritting their apps for Vista, but in the mean
while it's your system that either is not used or gets hacked to nether hell
in order to make stuff work. Want examples?
-Activesynch requires registry editing.
-Virtual drives require taking ownership of and modifying system files, as
well as turning DEP off
-AVG requires disabling Defender, UAP must be off for both AVG and virtual
drives ---Decent speed on the internet requires disabling IPv6

I like Vista, I am a fan, both for the looks and for the features, including
the security part. But liking won't help if apps don't run. AV, virtual
drives, decent burning software, Synch capabilities are a daily necessity for
most computer users I know.
