Reinstall Vista Default Fonts?

Hi,

Today I noticed that in a lot of my windows that my text is now either
in italic or in bold where before it was normal text.

In looking in my fonts folder, I see that my regualar Arial and Times
New Roman fonts are missing. The Arail Italic, etc, etc, are still
there, plus as far as I can tell, all the other fonts.

How can I get my copy of Vista Ultimate to reinstall arial.ttf and
times new roman.ttf? I've looked on the dvd and it looks like I can't
do a straight copy. Or can I download them from somewhere.

I think once I get these two fonts installed again(wish I knew how
they got deleted)the fonts in my windows should look fine again.

Thanks!

Re: Reinstall Vista Default Fonts?

Hello T.Rowe,

You might see if OPTION TWO (step 2) in the tutorial below can restore the default fonts for you. You will still need to change any fonts that were change in OPTION ONE (Step Two) of the Advanced Appearance settings though.

Fonts - Change Default

If this does not help, then you could do a System Restore using a restore point dated before the fonts changed.

System Restore - How to

Hope this helps,
Shawn
