| | Re: Cannot Save Changes to Folder Options Don't worry about the Everyone group unless you are in a network. Users are Authenticated, Everyone is not. Maybe Vista removed the Everyone with Vista. It was still there in XP. It is not needed if it is not there already. I was just saying that the security tab for the folders I looked at didn't have it listed with assigned permissions. I'll just change the ones that are already there. What about the "This Folder Only" part? What did you mean? -- Keith Russell keithr@xxxxxx |

| | Re: Cannot Save Changes to Folder Options Permissions can be set one of two ways. You have to go into the advanced tab though to see them which is about 3 levels deep in Vista. Basically the default when you set permissions is "This Folder, Subfolders and Files" which means that the permission is therefore inherited down for all subfolders. The second option is "This folder and subfolders" which means the permissions extend to the subfolders but not the files. The third option is "This folder only" which means if you set "everyone=read" on C: to "this folder only" than the Everyone group will not exist at all on any subfolders or files.
