| Vista Home Premium 32bit | System Restore Taking Forever? Hi. I decided to do a system restore, to a previous point that I made awhile ago. The problem is, I believe it might be frozen. I did the system restore, but when it went to the blue screen where it says that the "System Restore is Initializing", it was stuck there for about 2 hours. Then, it switched to "System Restore is Restoring the Registry", and it's been stuck there for about 3 hours. I've been tempted to use the power button, though it said that I shouldn't. So, what should I do? :/ [It's been restoring for about 5 hours now, total.] So I guess I'll post a bit of info about my laptop.. Running Vista Home Premium 32bit Used up 150gb out of 250gb 1.66ghz duo cpu And..Yeah. Will shutting it down harm my laptop? |

| | Re: System Restore Taking Forever? This may sound rediculous, but.. Are there any imaging programs that allow you to save your drive image to the exact same drive (but exclude images on that drive in future backups?) I've used Ghost, but have trouble restoring an image from a network drive. I'm using a laptop, and I won't want to exactly carry around a HD all the time. Thanks! - Henson <dev@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:ul3h89HZJHA.728@xxxxxx Quote: > /MasterPenguin/ said: Quote: >> Hi. | | Re: System Restore Taking Forever? Yes there are. You do it by exclusions. But it is NEVER a good idea to backup the operating system to the same drive that the operating system resides on. -- Richard Urban Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Henson" <mrnull@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23vHFTdKZJHA.4480@xxxxxx Quote: > This may sound rediculous, but.. > > Are there any imaging programs that allow you to save your drive image to > the exact same drive (but exclude images on that drive in future backups?) > I've used Ghost, but have trouble restoring an image from a network drive. > I'm using a laptop, and I won't want to exactly carry around a HD all the > time. > > Thanks! > > - Henson > > <dev@xxxxxx> wrote in message > news:ul3h89HZJHA.728@xxxxxx Quote: >> /MasterPenguin/ said: Quote: >>> Hi.
