Is this just the shortcuts on your desktop, or is it the same when you try a program from it's entry under All Programs in the start menu? Do the programs all run fine from their .exe files ? SIW2 |

Look for the actual program files Excel.exe, Winowrd.exe, etc. Right click on each item and choose "Send to desktop (Create Shortcut)". This will send a new icon to the desktop. See if that works. If the programs still don't work, try doubling clicking one of those program files right in the directory where you find it. For example, double click on Excel.exe. If Excel still does not start, you have a different issue than the classic Vista broken icon problem. |
