Performance test lockup

I need soem help, every time I run the perfromance test my system goes black
and my only option is to hit the power button. The only thing that I can
think of is it looks like it is running the video portion of the test, and I
am using a dual dvi output nvidia card with two monitors.

Re: Performance test lockup

Hi,

Have you tried waiting a few minutes? To run a test requires an override
from the user if UAC is enabled. As with any of these types of tasks, the
system goes blank momentarily while it initializes the acceptance applet.
Given time, it should come back. If not, try disabling UAC and then running
the performance test.

RE: Performance test lockup

I had the same problem with vista RC1. The problem is caused by the video
card during windows playback testing. I tried another older card and that
worked fine (with no aero)

I found out what causes the crash and how to solve the problem. I had
the problem with my nvidia 6600gt . I did not have the problem with my
ati 9600 tx (but no aero either). It's caused by the AGP bridge driver.

Change the AGP driver in the device manager under system. Use the old XP
driver and then rerun the performance test. It won't crash no more and the
videocard functions normally (with aero).

Success.
