| | "USB Device Not Recognized" message driving me crazy The subject message keeps popping up and blocking out a part of the screen that is used for other messages. All USB devices appear to be working properly. When I click on the message text, as instructed, it shows considerably fewer USB devices than I am using, all of which are working properly. Is there any option that I can set that will get rid of this message? I am also posting another issue that has started appearing in the past two days that tells me that my external USB hard disk must be formatted, although it is working properly; could this be connected to the USB message? When I open Device Manager, it displays "ALLEN-PC", which is correct. However, a list of devices appears and almost instantaneously vanishes. I have managed to click on the USB llisting once and it opened some kind of list, which has never stayed on the svreen long enough to even guess what it says. Weird, strange, crazy, whatever. If I can ever calm it down, I'll try your suggestion. Allen |
