This supernatural phenomena is freaking me out

Posted about this a few times but with no explanations, so i can only put
this down to the supernatural

Everytime I try to print using Microsoft Office Document Image Writer (hence
post to ms office newsgroups) - It goes through the motions (save a printout
as a file)

but the file (a .tiff file) cannot be seen by Vista (as if it doesn't exist)

Yet! (and here is the part that freaks me out)

The files can clearly be seen *only* by Microsoft Office Document Image
Writer save as dialogue box

Here you can clearly see one dating back as far as 29th Sept 2008 visible
through a dialogue box i opened today (some 3 months later)

Has anyone got any explanations or is this supernatural phenomena?

Failing that - I use a 'Windows' image writer at work and that works fine -
Anybody know what it's called?

Re: This supernatural phenomena is freaking me out

So it's safe to assume this is supernatural phenomena

Re: This supernatural phenomena is freaking me out

Hi,

Try the following and see if you can retrieve the file:
1. Go to the Save As dialog box of Document Image Writer.
2. Right-click the file and select "Cut" menu item.
3. Get rid of the Save As dialog box and show the Desktop.
4. Right-click on Windows Desktop and click "Paste" menu item.

Does this get you your file?

Re: This supernatural phenomena is freaking me out

It has to be supernatural but only on your computer <g> It certainly works
as it should for me. If I 'Print' it to my default Documents folder, it is
at the top of the folder (when viewed in date order) and it automatically
opens for viewing in my default graphics editor.

Are you saying that you can neither find it in the Default location (as set
in the Image Writer properties dialog) nor does it open for viewing in your
default graphics editor?

Re: This supernatural phenomena is freaking me out

I actually deleted all the ghostly files (one being quite large) via
dialogue box a day after posting

Just tried DIW again and it seems to working find now

I have strong suspicion the problem was connected to the "Vista not being
able to see some foreign files bug"
