| Guest | Re: Windows Explorer has stopped working Hi Luc, A fix would only be made available if it were broken for many people. For most explorer is not broken, however I have seen it broken by the addition of spy/ad programs, incompatible shell enhancing programs, and other software. You will need to selectively disable running programs to decipher which one is interfering with the shell on your system. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "Luc" <Luc@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:7614AED7-FDDB-441F-A192-3FB997C7FCEF@microsoft.com... > Regularly the message, Windows Explorere has stopped working is displayed, > particularly when opening control pannel or control pannel options. > > When is there a fix available |

| Guest | Re: Windows Explorer has stopped working Hi, I have installed 5600 and 5728. Explorer has to restart at least 5-6 times per day (min). Every time it does I press "send information to Microsoft" hoping someone got it. It sent over 3mb of info the otherday. Vista is my main OS and I would spend over 5 hours per day infront of it. |

| Guest | Re: Windows Explorer has stopped working Same problem here. Explorer often restarts, often just after I'd closed it! And it's so slow. It takes about 10 seconds to load the contents of a folder. So bad, that I gave in and worked with XP on my laptop last night. And I don't have any 'strange' applications loaded, just PC-Cillin's Vista Beta version, Office 2007B2TR and Photoshop CS (well, kind of... but it's practically un-usable because it takes forever to load). | Guest | Re: Windows Explorer has stopped working Remove each of those programs, one at a time. Wait and see inbetween if the problem stops. -- Best of Luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Nutcase" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/ Windows help - www.rickrogers.org "WayneR" <wrob1004@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:5952CA19-80E9-40BC-B85C-7F2E5422DBC6@microsoft.com... > Same problem here. | Guest | Re: Windows Explorer has stopped working - Rick Rogers01-Oct-06 Unfortunately, you would have to go into Control Panel to add/remove programs to do that. Here's my workaround: Go into Welcome Center, pull down the list of Control Panel options from the whatever it's called now for navigation up top, then select Programs and Features. However, not all work with this method of navigation. Network and Sharing Center crashes as well.
