Preparing to install when click on start, recycle bin, etc.
Recently my system started having a problem where I would get a preparing to
install message when right clicking on the recycle bin, clicking on the start
button or starting applications like Word. It doesn't happen every time but
always happens the first time I do one of these after rebooting the computer.
I tried uninstalling Microsoft Office 2007 and then had to follow the
instructions in KB928218 for uninstalling when you cannot use add or remove
programs. I was not able to remove a few "groove" files because it said I
didn't have rights. (I am the administrator). I reinstalled but still have
the issue.
I have searched the internet and microsoft and have tried every reasonable
solution I have seen. It's getting on my nerves
If anyone has ideas on how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it.
Running Windows Vista Ultimate with all patches, Microsoft Office 2007
Enterprise with all patches.
Thanks.

Hi caren,
Sometimes you have to right click on things and check run a s admin even if you're signed in as an admin. You might try running SFC to see if it helps any. Run a full malware scan with an antivirus program, just to be sure.
