Vista - Blackberry 4.2 Desktop Manager

Folks
I have scoured a number of forums but have not found an answer to make the
desktop manager recognize the blackberry through the USB cable. Could not
find any new drivers at the BB site either. Given the popularity of the
devices, I am surprised that we still have a non-working combination...Any
ideas ?

Believe me I don't like it either, I have my work 7520 and my personal
8100 connected to Vista but only to charge them. I hear rumblings that
Blackberry MAY release an updated client in November.

I have yet to find a way to get either device recognized under Vista even if
I extract the XP SP2 drivers from the 4.1 installer.

As you have discovered, the results have been inconsistent for different
testers. A few have reported 4.2 worked for them. Others have not. It's
in Blackberry's court to come out with a Vista compatible driver/software.
Many vendors are waiting till later in the Vista development cycle when the
OS is at gold to create drivers.
