Agent 4.0 from my XP to Vista

Hi,
Since you don't have to install Agent 4.0 I tried to copy it from my XP and put it in the Programs Files of RC1 but
when I went to use it refused to give me access. This is a big file 490 MB that has all my newsgroups and email in it so
I just can't do a clean install.Is there a way I can do this?

Have a good day,

Re: Agent 4.0 from my XP to Vista

Hi Steve,
Well I am confused on this and I need this program to work if I am going to buy Vista. Will have to wait for a fix on
this I guess?

I use a much older version of Agent (1.92/32.576) and the only way to
get it to work with Vista was to run it as administrator. I think
Vista doesn't like something about the use of .dat files.

The copied version trial, uses (ini, dat, idx) files in my user
directory (started with shortcut, just like I use XP except for path
names). Since there is no error message, I have no clue what is
barfing all over my desktop :^)

It's the only way I can run 4.0 under Vista.

Why don't you ask the tech support for Agent how to do it, or if/when they
will support Vista?

I did run it as the Administrator. That is the only setup I did.

How do you run 4.0? OR are you saying your only running 1.92?
