Vista Perfomance

Well I just installed Vista RC1 Build 5600 Yesterday and I have a few
suggestions and comparisions.

1. Performace - The overall performance of Vista on my Machine is like
getting a mule to move through 2 foot deep mud. I thought I had a average
machine, good for Vista, but it appears I don't. I program a lot for fun on
my home PC using Visual Studio 2005(a great program, highly reccomend it!)
and when Running it on Vista I have noticed a lot of lag, as if the OS is
using way to many system resources, even with no background programs at all,
and Windows sidebar turned off. this is really irking me as I never had this
problem with Vista Beta 2 which performed so well for me, that well, I was
really eager for RC1. Vista appears to be designed for high end machines and
not your good old blue collar hard working computers. If this is true I
believe that Vista will not be a good replacement for XP.

2. The User Interface - Loved it in Beta 2, hate it in RC1. Well at least in
Beta 2 the Title bars mached my start bar. I can't use Areo in Vista because
My video card is 1.9 and you need a 2 to run it. I am fumeing over that...
Other wise it looks sharp... Oh, whats up with this new welcome screen? I
like Beta 2's better, it wasn't as tacky. The Windows Areo cusor was cool,
but i'd like to see it in black...

3. Installation of RC1 - The one good improvement. It was easy, fast, and
efficent, on an upgrade from Beta 2.

Well there is what I think of RC1.

Overall: Beta 2 was the better version, except for security and other small
program updates.

RE: Vista Perfomance

Earlier I forgot to add that, upon first use, moniors that cannot display
higher resolutions, on their first vista Boot will have to enable low
resolution video to get the Os to work.

Re: Vista Perfomance

In my opinion, RC1 is much better than Beta2. With Beta2, I encount
bluescreen up to 5-10 times a day, while the RC1 always runs smoothly.
