Service Pack 1

I have been getting notice on my automatic notification of MSFT updates that
Service Pack 1 is available for download on my system. VISTA has been
working just fine for me, and I have always been reluctant to do any
downloads which may be unnecessary. In the past I've read mixed reports on
SP1, so I am asking if our community has any recent experience with the
download and whether you consider it necessary. Thank you, Jerry.

Re: Service Pack 1

I have installed Service Pack 1 in Vista Ultimate 64 bit and have
experienced no problems. I would not, however, install Service Pack 2 as it
is still in beta testing.

Re: Service Pack 1

Yes, you should indeed install SP1 for Vista.

In addition to previously released updates, SP1 contains changes focused on
addressing specific reliability
and performance issues, supporting new types of hardware, and adding support
for several emerging standards.
Windows Vista SP1 also addresses some management, deployment, and support
challenges.
