| | Rc1 ugrade failed rollback to XP failed I used the Upgrade Advisor and got rid of everything I needed to go before Rc1 was attempted. I then tried to do the RC1 upgrade on my XP box and it froze up. I left it at about 3/4 done on the progress bar. I finally decided to restart the computer. Upon reboot the setup told me it had failed and was going to roll back to xp. That also failed and now I get a command box. Anyone know how to fix this? |

| | Re: Rc1 ugrade failed rollback to XP failed If you want XP back you will have to format and then reinstall XP. | | Re: Rc1 ugrade failed rollback to XP failed Do you have an image of your XP system, a restore CD, or an OEM or retail CD for XP? If you created an image of your XP system before upgrading, you can restore from the image, and be right back where you were. If you have a system restore CD, you can restore XP from that (but not your data) If you have either an OEM or retail CD for XP, you can do a clean install of XP (also will not restore your data). You can also try a clean install of Vista. Sometimes a clean install will succeed where an upgrade will fail.
