| Ultimate x64 | ready boost service error message - help! I noticed my PC was taking about 30 extra seconds to boost. Checked the ready boost usb device that I've been using for 6 months without an issue. It contained no files, no ready boost cache. Hmmm. Reformated it (first NTFS, then fat 32), pulled it out, plugged back in - never got a tab on properties for setting up as ready boost. Went into services, the ready boost service was stopped. Started it and got this error message: "windows could not start the readyboost service on local computer. Error 6: The handle is invalid". Plugged in another usb thumbdrive, same exact problem. Oh, checked event viewer, saw this: The readyboost service terminated with the following error: The handle is invalid". Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks, Nelson see word doc attached for event viewer shot Last edited by nelsonsdavis; 01-06-2009 at 12:53 AM..
