| | Redirecting my Documents folder, any disadvantages ? Hello, I'm planning to move my Documents folder to the E: partition on my hard disk (which is currently empty). I know how to do this, and I think I understand the advantages, but are there any disadvantages ? (I'm not short of space on the C: partition) Thanks K |

(I'm not short > of space on the C: partition) The only potential disadvantage is that it can slightly slow down the computer because it will take a little time for the heads of the drive to move back and forth between the C: partition and the E: partition. Chances are, though, that such a slowdown may be small enough that you won't notice it. The problem with decreasing space in C has been asked at least 1000 times in this newsgroup. I know how to do this, ... I didn't find an easy way for this, I had to move everything manually, which was a lot of work, and it did'nt work out for each folder. Ideally I want to move the whole C:\Users folder to a different disk. Thanks, Robert |
