| Guest | Time limit I understand from a customer that there may be a time limit (or rental) of Vista once it is released. The person said when you buy it the license is only good for 1 year, can any one please confirm if this is true or not? Thank you |

If this is true then Microsoft will hear from me about how I oppose it and why. Microsoft is a good company that listens to me and others and you just have to be knowledgeable and know how to work the system. -- Dan W. Computer User |

| Guest | Re: Time limit "The person said..." Does the person have a source? If not... If such a thing would happen you would not need to ask here. Such a major change would fill the technology news sites, these newsgroups and probably get heavy coverage in much of the media. The person may have misunderstood something, may like to spread false rumours, or something else. We do not know your customer so you can determine which far better than us. -- Jupiter Jones [MVP] http://www3.telus.net/dandemar http://www.dts-l.org "DeserT DwelleR" <desert@dweller.com> wrote in message news:12i4m243klc6293@corp.supernews.com... >I understand from a customer that there may be a time limit (or rental) of >Vista once it is released. > The person said when you buy it the license is only good for 1 year, can > any one please confirm if this is true or not? > > Thank you |

| Guest | Re: Time limit There is definitely a time limit on the Beta/RC-x releases that are currently available, and support for those releases will stop as soon as the regular release is out, I believe. Considering the price of Vista that's been put forward, I can't imagine that rumour being true. There's enough complaints about that, and the lack of a SOHO bundle price (a la Apple) that Microsoft shouldn't be seriously considering a silly scheme like annual fees. But stranger things have happened. | Guest | Re: Time limit If that was true, then I would definitely stick to Windows XP Professional and when the time came to invest in new computers look to purchasing an Apple iMac, or perhaps a Mac Mini depending on how much I want to pay for it.
