| | Vista SP2 Installation Failed I decided to install SP2 for Vista. The installation failed when it reached 65 percent on step 3. Eventually the install crashed, and on boot up indicated that the SP was going to be reverted back. Now when my machine starts it is prompting me that Windows must be reinstalled to active – insert the Windows installation DVD into your computer to begin the reinstallation process. I am currently on vacation and do not have access to my media. What is the work around here? |

Why would you risk installing a beta version of SP2 on Vista when you are away on vacation and do not have access to your media? http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/w.../dd300591.aspx You could try a system restore but no guarantees that'll work.
