RC1 search box in start menu is not removed when made selection

Hello, I am running RC1.
I can't make the search box in the start menu to disappear.
I was able to do this in Beta2 by choosing choosing properties after right
click on start bottem and then choose customize ... then remove the check
mark from search. This did not remove the search box. I even tried to remove
the check marks from all the serach options there ..
Any reason why this does not work for me in RC1?

I would be better if an option like this is provided by simply right click
on the check box area to enable/disble this option.

Please let me know if you what the problem is.
This unnecessary feature prevent me from using key strokes with the start
menu efficiently.
Thanks,
Shawn

Look through the group policies to see if there is a way to disable the
search display.

Run as administrator, gpedit.msc.
