System keeps crashing

My friend is using Windows Vista. A couple of days ago he downloaded Adobe
Flash player while using the WebShots website. After downloading the player
his system starting crashing for no reason. As someone who has been working
on his computer I'm clueless as to why his system is crashing. I was
thinking that it might be that somewhere he got a load of trojans or even a
virus while browsing the web. Am I correct in the assumption that this could
be a possibility or could it be something else?

Thanks

Re: System keeps crashing

Define 'crash' more exactly... ?
What's the fault data for the crash?

Does turning off Adobe Flash in IE's Tools:Manage Add-ons make the crashes
go away?

Speaking for myself only.
