RC2 today???

I heard it was getting released today. True? It's awefully fast turn around
from RC1 to RC2, is it not? Well I'm gonna give it a shot, hoping it fixes
my graphical quality issues.

Re: RC2 today???

RC2 ? I didn't think there would be an RC2.
What time is it due out in Redmond ?
What is new in RC2? Say that 3 times real fast.
Just because it is marked as RC2, does that make it RC2? You would think RC2
would have better quality than RC1 right ? Then why does the download page
say it doesn't have the same testing as RC1 ? Microsoft wouldn't mark a
build as RC2 just so they could say they released an RC2 would they ?

That was the rumor. Time will tell.

It's 07:07 in Redmond at the moment, so a little too early for any builds
yet. 2 hours at least, and more likely double that if not more.

> Just because it is marked as RC2, does that make it RC2?

No, it's been dubbed RC2, because apparently its the last release that beta
testers and the public will get. It's an interim build like 5728.

Yes.

Because unlike RC1 which had weeks of testing prior to being released this
may of only had days of testing. So it'll probably have fewer bugs all
around, but it could well have a few major bugs that have cropped up.

RE: RC2 today???

Bah, forget it. It will only be open to original beta testers and Technet
subscribers. Guess that discludes me since I jumped on at RC1. Back to XP I
go until final release since they won't be concentrating on the build I have
anymore.

RE: RC2 today???

I also read that they are looking to go from about 1500 to 500 "bugs" to
prepare for final production by the end of October. That is the reason for
the "rushed" RC2. This will be the last build before final release,
apparently.

Where did you see that it's for the public too? Because as I just posted, I
read it's only for original beta and Technet...it's not public.

Re: RC2 today???

I am downloading 5744 now. There is no apparent reference to RC2, but docs
are not yet posted.

Re: RC2 today???

It may be made available to randomly selected CPP testers.
