Task Scheduler Question-Wake Up Computer

Task Scheduler Question

When creating a task in Task Scheduler, a look-in window asks you to submit
a program/script notation for the task you are trying to schedule.

I put my PC to sleep when not in use. I would like to schedule my PC to
wake up at a specific time. What program/script notation can I use to wake
up my PC? I use Vista Home Premium.

Brink -

Yes, I am aware of your link. However, as you go through the steps, it
requires you to insert in a look-in window a program/script notation. And, I
don't know what to put there. My reason for waking my computer is to allow
it to run a scheduled backup program, which requires my PC to be on.

Re: Task Scheduler Question-Wake Up Computer

Jerry,

Could you not not just have the "Windows Defender" task set to wakeup the computer a bit before your backup program is scheduled to run?

Afterwards, you can adjust the return to sleep timeout to be long enough for you backup program to start and finish running.

Sleep Return Timeout for Unattended Wake Up
