Hello
Why do the views of the files in my folders keep changing ?
Why do the subfolders not have the same view?
It seems that I have to keep resetting the views, but next time I open a
folder it has gone back to what it was before
Help pls

contents viewed - and set that way - the next time I go there I get
whatever Vista wants me to have. I have checked the "Remember folder
views" so many times the checkbox is worn out. This does not help.
Even going to the folder options and setting "make all folders look this
way" doesn't help.

Have you looked at...

'Annoyances.org - Default Folder Template Patch'
Q
--->Very interesting reading Dave. I may go that route if the PC Annoyances
advice doesn't work. I don't mind messing with the Registry, but I will
if I have to.
GP
--->Seems a bit easier than Dave's route. Both of them appear to be

modifying that same areas of the Registry, but this one might just do
the trick.

It's a bug that's fixed in Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows 7. You
can use the registry resets to work around it in the interim. Sorry: it was
a complex bug to reproduce and isolate.

I certainly don't mind going to a website to read about how to fix an
annoying problem in Vista, Lord knows, it's how I spend a good hour of my day
ever since I installed Vista.
But that posting about the folder views, seriously, it is THIRTY FIVE pages
long. And ya know, the most recent stuff is posted last, so anyone can
reasonably expect an end-user to read even FIVE pages, much less all 35, is
beyond me.
I do sincerely hope this nasty problem is fixed in SP2.
Thanks,
