Just as RC2 is released, I received RC1 in the post this morning.
That is just terrible planning MS. Sort out your shipping!!!
What a waste of money.

Yeah, but look at it the way I do. If you keep it in its shrink wrap, in 50
years time you'll be able to sell it for a huge sum as an antique. :-)

OR - you can use it for flipping ''heads or tails" when the time comes to
decide about buying Vista
heads = side 1
tails = side 2
(I got my DVD after I had d/l & installed RC1)

Physical copies will always lag behind. It takes a couple of weeks to
manufacture the discs and then another week or so to ship.

Re: Vista shipping is useless

not necessarily a waste. Many folks may not have access to the HIGH SPPED
connections.

Well, if user lacks access to high speed connection, I would recommend
staying out of beta testing. Especially if the software that is tested
is > 1GB in size.

It is a waste when others have moved on. When MS have moved onto RC2 will
they still be interested in bug reports for RC1?

I think time has already demonstrated there's no monetary value in outdated
software. Betas even moreso. I'd love to be proven wrong--I've got a
couple of CDs you might be interested in. :-)
