Need help updating to Vista SP1

For some reason I can not update to windows vista SP1 with windows update;
therefore, I decided to download SP1. I download SP1 64bet and my PC did not
support it. Then, I downloaded the 32bet. Unfortunately both of them did not
work. I found out that my system is X86-based PC. So now I have no idea what
to do. Can some one help please.

System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 3

Make sure your computer is ready for the edition of Windows Vista you want.
The Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor will help you to determine if your Windows
XP-based PC can run Windows Vista. You can also use the Upgrade Advisor to
determine if your Windows Vista-based PC is ready for an upgrade to a more
powerful edition of Windows Vista.

Re: Need help updating to Vista SP1

Yep, I read it, thought it would be more appropriate to upgrade at least to
Vista before trying to install updates for Vista.

The OP is only joking anyway, no one would seriously try and install a Vista
Service Pack on a Windows XP system.

You *are* an optimist, aren't you? :-)

Of course, you might be right, but I dunno.
