Vista screen saver is transparent

Help! When any screensaver kicks in, it is transparent, meaning that I
see through it to the desktop, which is still up. How do I make the
desktop disappear when the screensaver turns on? As an example, when I
turn on the Bubbles screensaver, bubbles bounce around on the screen
OVER the desktop, not in place of it.

Re: Vista screen saver is transparent

Are you sure it's any screen saver? On my machine the screen savers hide the
desktop, but the bubbles screen saver is designed as a transparent screen
saver.

Re: Vista screen saver is transparent

Yup, the Bubbles screen saver does that.

Tyro - Jeez, you're right. I didn't realize that the sample was also
transparent. I tried two others and it works fine. I was having a
problem with the blank screen not turning on, but it seems to be
working now.

Thanks much for your help!!

Select a different screensaver.

Right-click on an empty area of the Desktop > select "Personalize" > click
on "Screen Saver" > use the drop-down list to select a different screen
saver > you can use the "Preview" button to see how it works (don't move the
mouse while doing so or you turn off the preview!) > when done selecting
click any OKs
