Re: Download aborted at 91%

Hi,

Nope, if it detected corruption in the download the only option is to start
anew.

I used Opera 9. It aborted at around 98% but Opera just allowed me to
resume the download from where it left off.

Yeah when i used Firefox i came home once to find the download window had
just... vanished..gone..not there!
So just re-opened it and clicked "resume" and it carried on from where it
left off.

Re: Download aborted at 91%

The servers could be very busy I had that problem with the Pre Rc1 build, I
tried 4 times and it kept aborting in the last 10% , so I gave up.
I was downloading RC2 within an hour of it going public and luckily I got
it.

But I think the CPP should of got RC2 from a secure site (one that requires
a sign in), I'm sure there are lots of people out there downloading it that
aren't in the CPP, tech beta or MSDN
and their causeing congestion on the servers

I never understood why they never implemented a login to download it. They
have our original passport details from when we first signed up, so it would
be no great problem to have login based on those details.

"I'm sure there are lots of people out there downloading it that aren't in
the CPP, tech beta or MSDN and their causeing congestion on the servers"

What's the point of them doing this if they require keys?.

Re: Download aborted at 91%

We know that but that doesn't stop them from downloading it anyway, and
causing server congestion for those who legitimately download it.
And all those copys of the software in the hands of people without product
keys is only going to encourage hackers to find a way around that, which
will probably cause a whole lot of problems later on.
And I'm certain that by the time vista is released in january there will
already be counterfiet copys out there.
