| | vista on two computers I am thinking about buying Vista. I have a computer that has XP Home SP3. I want to build another system. Can I install vista on the newly built one after I install it on my old one? Also, is there a way to scan my present computer to see if the 64-bit Vista version can work on it? Thank you, David |

| | Re: vista on two computers No, one copy of Vista on one PC Though if a retail version you can install/uninstall on one PC, then install on the new PC You check your HW manufacturers sites, for the XP pc, and see if 64 bit drivers are available "titus12" <titus12@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:%23Lu9Se9mJHA.1248@xxxxxx Quote: >I am thinking about buying Vista. | | Re: vista on two computers You can only use 'one' copy on 'one machine. If you want to install Vista on two machines then you need to buy two copies of the operating system. Sadly volume licensing starts at 5 PCs. As for your PC being 64 bit compatible check either your PCs handbook or else your PC manufacturer's website. That should give you details of whether the processor is 64 Bit or not. -- John Barnett MVP Windows XP Associate Expert Windows Desktop Experience Web: http://www.winuser.co.uk Web: http://www.silversurfer-guide.com Web: http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org Web: http://vistasupport.mvps.org The information in this mail/post is supplied "as is".
