Vista Join Domain

When I install Vista, it wants to force me to create a local account, and it
won't let me create one called Administrator, becuase the name is already
used (thus the Administrator account exists). I don't want to create some
dummy account just just to log in to join the domain. How do I get past the
"Choose a user name and picture" screen and log in as Administrator so I can
just install the network drivers and join my domain?

Thank you,
Dan

Why not create an extra local administrative account? Call it "Tech" and
give it a strong password. It won't hurt you to have an extra account and
may even wind up saving you in an emergency. You can always delete it
afterwards but what for?

Malke, kword88

thank
After I posted, I started Googeling, and I saw that the Vista Administrator
acct is disabled, and I remembered the "best practice" of renaming the
Administrator account. I then figured out your "Tech" account idea as
basically a renamed admin account (though I used a different
administrator-like word) that I will use for all the computers on my
network.

Thanks,
Dan

Actually, we don't enable the built-in Administrator account and then rename
it in Vista. We leave it disabled and create a Tech account. It doesn't
bother me or my colleagues to have an extra administrative user account on
Windows machines.
