RE: Default Users/My User location, is it possible to move the default to D:/ drive?

How on Earth do I 'move' the default Users/... to a different folder/drive?
Does anyone know, anywhere?

Previously on XP

C:/My Documents and Settings/My User

moved to

D:/My User

I have tried and failed to move the default location of just one of the
folders in the User/... directory to the D drive.

Tried to move

C:/Users/.../downloads
to
D:/My User/...

All it did was change

D:/My User/... folder
to
D:/downloads

Whenever I try and move another C;user/folder anywhere on the D: drive,
Vista puts it in the D:/downloads folder. When I check the D:/downloads
folder, it isnt there....

I cant be alone in this.... Although I feel like a lonely voice, crying
meekly in the dark...

Don't think in terms of XP. You will have to relearn how to do things in
Vista.

Re: Default Users/My User location, is it possible to move the default to D:/ drive?

Ahh, so is there anyway to point the virtual folders in the users directory
to a different drive.

I would have thought the default save location for IE, Office, etc would be
C:/Users/.... And its basically this location which I wish to change. And
without changing it in each application. When I change the location in XP,
whenever I save using an application, the default is now my D:/MyDocs/
destination.

I find this very useful. Im sure its possible in Vista. Its nice to think
in schematics and all, but if the default save location is my C: Drive, its
going to get full pretty quick...

And could u elaborate on how what I ask is acheiveable by thinking in Vista
rather than XP?
