Vista - whr downloaded files go in Vista?

I am using FireFox v 3.0.7 and when ever i download any file the
download window show the progress and when it finishes the downloaded
file vanishes from that folder !!!

where does it go?

OS > window Vista Home Premium

Perhaps the download location is different from the folder you look at -
check tools > options > main (downloads)

No, the location is same. while downloading the files exists but when
finished it vanishes.

Is it just one particular file or all of them?

Yes it can be to do with Vista of Firefox settings. Try the following:

Go to the control panel and disable UAC (User Account Control). Reboot
and try downloading again.

OR
"Firefox 3 may block downloads of all executable files if the Windows
Internet security option, "Launching applications and unsafe files" is
set to "Disable". This setting is misleading, since downloading is also
blocked. This security option is available on Windows Vista and Windows
XP systems with Internet Explorer 7 installed. To change the setting,
open Internet Options (via Control Panel or from Internet Explorer ->
Tools) and click the Security tab. With the Internet zone icon
highlighted, click the Custom level... button. A list of security
settings for the Internet zone will appear. Find the "Launching
applications and unsafe files" setting (under Miscellaneous) and select
"Prompt (recommended)"

Where Firefox downloads go has nothing to do with Vista. They go where the
Firefox settings tell them to go, the default I believe is to the desktop.
