Re: Aero glass

For Aero glass to work you need a video card with at least 128MB of onboard
ram.

Confirmed in practice here. AG runs nicely, but for the times that an
incompatible app toggles it off.

Re: Aero glass

What are you guys talking about? You only need 64 mb of video memory for
glass to work...

Re: Aero glass

According to Microsoft:

Support for DirectX 9 graphics with a WDDM driver, 128 MB of graphics memory
(minimum)2, Pixel Shader 2.0 and 32 bits per pixel.

Yes you can get it to work with 64MB via a registry hack, but the Microsoft
offical recommendation is listed above.

Re: Aero glass

Well, isn't the truth of the matter that one CAN run Aero on a 64MB vid
card? Regardless of whether it's offered through the UI or through a reg
hack? It was offered through the UI up to and including 5728. That they
removed it from the UI in 5744 but left the reg hack in... don't know what
to make of that. Maybe the reg hack won't work in RTM code.
