Speed tests show IE8 beating Chrome, Firefox

Tests that show IE8 can load many websites faster than two open source browsers: Firefox and Chrome

<sigh>
A test performed by MICROSOFT shows its own product faster. Well who would
have believed it?

This test means nothing little really. It shows that IE8 loads some sites
faster than Chrome or Mozilla, and Chrome loads some sites faster than IE8
and Mozilla, and Firefox loads some sites faster than Chrome and IE8.

Here's some results of my test using FireFox 3.03.......

Adobe.com - 6 seconds
Live.com - under 3 seconds
163.com - 15 seconds
microsoft.com - 6 seconds, with > 2 seconds FF saying 'waiting for
www.microsoft.com'
myspace.com - under 3 seconds

Which also means nothing. We're talking the internet here. A site could be
50 miles away and 3 hops, or 2000 miles away and 25 hops.

For this test to be accurate. The websites listed here need to be all on
the same server, at the same location.

Nor do I really. In the grand scheme of things, what's 20 or even 200
milli-seconds.

My experience with IE7 is that it slows down appreciably the more
windows or tabs you have open. IE6 did not have that problem. I hope
IE8 corrects that.

Have they fixed that "2400 sites don't work with IE8" issue? No?
Expect a surge to Firefox.

I've not found ANY sites since the release of IE7 and FF3 that don't work in
either...

FF has a problem with some. When that happens I use the add-on that
opens the page in IE from within FF.
