Roxio and Nero Install Problems

Yesterday I left a message, commenting on my problems with installing Roxio
or Nero in Windows Vista (RC1 and RC2). I couldn't install from the Admin
position because it wasn't visible on my system. But then along came Rick
"Nutcase" Rogers with the solution to my invisible Admin problem and I was
halfway there. I say "halfway" as I still had to get Roxio or Nero to
install.

So I rebooted as Admin, now that I could find him, and tried Nero. No luck.
It simply would not install, telling me it was not compatible with my
operating system and that I should look to the Nero web site for a solution.
Of course, there isn't one - at least not yet.

As a last resort I tried my Roxio Easy Media Creator, which I much prefer
anyway, and damned if the whole thing didn't install without a hitch. Not
only was I surprised but, of course, very pleased to now have CD/DVD-burning
software on my RC2 system.

Just thought I'd pass along the results.

RE: Roxio and Nero Install Problems

How did you "find" the invisible admin? Mine is not visible either.

RE: Roxio and Nero Install Problems

Hi Bob....

Let me pass on exactly what was given to me:

Click start, type lusrmgr.msc and hit enter. Click on the users folder,
then right click the administrator account and select properties. Uncheck
the box that disables the account. Apply/ok your way out, then logoff and
back on as administrator and try installing the software.

That works just fine. Hope this helps.

Re: Roxio and Nero Install Problems

Thanks for the suggestion although I much prefer Roxio anyway and so I am
quite happy to have my full Roxio Easy Media Creator working.
